Gardening Thoughts

It seems as though time has gotten away from me the past couple of months.  So much to do.  And with all the rain we've been having this year on the prairies, those who didn't get washed out have had a lot of weeds to deal with.  But the sun is now shining and the gardens are absolutely popping with flowers, fruits and vegetables.

I hope you're having a wonderful summer as well.

At this time of year I get a lot of questions about bugs of all sorts.  Remember, not all bugs are pests.  Some are actually very beneficial to your garden.  Before you spray, check out this article on bugs and Natural Bug Sprays.

And much as I don't like to mention it yet, depending on where you live, it's almost time to start thinking about ordering your bulbs for fall planting.

Some articles to help you out with your summer garden are:
  • Tomatoes: Grow tomatoes in your garden or on your patio.  Includes everything from starting your tomato seedlings through transplanting, growing, pests, diseases, & harvesting.

Please do write and let me know how your garden is growing.  What do you like best about working in the soil?  Do you have any questions you would like answered?  How about some stories to share?  Just add your comments below.  We all look forward to hearing from you.

    1. Hello,

I especially like the fairy garden idea!!!!! Wish my grandkids were not so BIG now. They used to see fairies in my garden all the time. Mine did not have cute little cottages etc., did have lots of toadstools and such though.

Yes fall is coming on big time. I am harvesting cosmos seeds and drying hydrangeas and clipping vines and all that good stuff. Eating tomatoes everyday and the squash are ready as well.

Actually I am just in here cooling off for a bit and had best get back out there before I sit too long and get "the lazies".

      Have a good one
