It all began when we first moved to the mountains. It was winter, the snow was extremely deep, and I learned that not only did we need to shovel walks and driveways, we had to shovel our roof as well!
That first winter, it seemed as though my feet were always freezing. My daughter was expecting her first child, and while browsing through my knitting books for something for the new baby, I came upon a pattern for wool socks.
From there I was hooked. I knit socks for myself. I knit socks for my kids. And when the little one was born, I knit some for her too. But did you know that a child's foot is very different in its proportions from an adult foot? There just didn't seem to be a pattern that worked right for a baby. So a few years, and many trials later, I developed a fit that seemed to work for most babies.
Since then I find knitting wool baby and toddler socks a total joy. It's relaxing at the end of a day, and great for clearing your head when you've been consumed by work. Best of all, the socks have given warmth to tiny toes around the world.
If you would like to see some of the socks I've been working on, just go to http://www.woolbabysocks.com

ENJOY! And may your toes be warm this holiday season.
